We Go METRO!

Keith G. -- "I take the Metro to enjoy my commute, not hate it.
On nice sunny days, I enjoy some rays while I'm waiting for the number 3. I read my Blackberry or the paper while they do the driving. No driving in traffic. And when I take the kids or go with friends on the bus, I actually get time to talk with them; I'm not stopping and going at red lights. Plus I've met new people and the walking to and from the stops is really healthy. And they'll carry my bike on rainy days or get me through bad blizzards safely in the winter. Why drive?"

Anne F. -- "I've been riding METRO off and on for over 20 years. I've been riding it daily thru the work week for the last five years. My husband and I have managed to become a one-car family because of METRO. It saves us upkeep and car insurance on a second car, gasoline; and I save myself the stress of driving to and from work in traffic and weather conditions. In fact, it makes me a more productive employee. When the office closes because of weather conditions, I can stay at work, because the buses very rarely stop running. I am mainly a bike commuter but when the weather is rough in the winter, Metro is by far the fastest, safest and easiest way for me to get to work. When it snows in the winter, I head to the bus stop. No shoveling, no cleaning off the car, no slipping around on the roads, no parking problems. I can kick back and read and relax. I often arrive at work long before the rest of my colleagues- even those that live on peninsula. My husband and I often take the bus downtown for our nights on the town. Door to door it is much faster, as we don’t have to drive all around looking for parking. And we get to talk, without thinking about traffic and which road to take."
