Title VI Notification Procedures
TITLE VI NOTIFICATION
The Greater Portland Transit District (METRO) Title VI notification is as follows:
Your Rights Under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
"No person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance."

Members of the public who believe they have been the subject of discrimination can file a written and signed complaint up to 180 days from the date of the alleged discrimination.
Any individual, group of individuals or entity that believes it has been subjected to discrimination probhited under Title VI may file a complaint by completing the METRO complaint form below (Attachment A)
Your complaint must be signed and dated.

In the case where a complainant is unable or incapable of providing a written statement, a verbal complaint of discrimination may be made to the Transportation Manager. Under these circumstances, the complainant will be interviewed, and the Transportation Manager will assisnt the complainant in converting the verbal allegations into writing.

Greater Portland Transit District (METRO) posts its Title VI notification on its website (above) and in a Title VI brochure, which it distributed at the METRO office (114 Valley St., Portland) and the METRO Pulse (transit center/hub at 21 Elm St. in Portland).
